In his editorial for Sportitalia, journalist Michele Criscitiello expressed his thoughts on the issue of a new sporting director for the Rossoneri team:
"Milan has plunged into crisis with its own hands. Sometimes the criticism comes to us before the people directly involved. It’s like sitting at a poker table. The player looks at and looks again at his cards a thousand times. He thinks a hundred times about what to throw on the table, but someone passes by and sees the cards. The solution is simple. If you think too much, you make the wrong decision. Milan has done everything on its own. A mess."

Criscitiello continued to talk about Milan's director situation:
"[...] Fortunately for Milan, Berta will not arrive. Overrated profile. Mendes' man, an executor and not a decision-maker. Club manager, but not Director. Not needed. Tare? Italian management is needed. Tare has been in our country for 100 years, but the result doesn't change. Milan needs a manager who has already played to win and not to make capital gains or secure fourth places. Too much talk has surrounded Tare in Rome, and working with Lotito is one thing, working at Milan is another. Paratici is the only viable name for Milan. Someone at Milan has their nose in the air and lets us know that Paratici has been suspended, but if we start playing this game, then 99% of clubs shouldn’t have a manager. Let’s leave the puritans, or the fake ones, at home. Paratici is the right man to get Milan back on track."
