On the pages of Gazzetta dello Sport, Arrigo Sacchi, former AC Milan coach, spoke about the current moment for Milan after their defeat to Lazio:
"Another slip-up for Milan, and now the chase for a Champions League spot has become almost impossible. An incredible ending, because Lazio won with a penalty in stoppage time, but the substance is always the same: the Rossoneri are not a team, no point in sugarcoating it. Lazio, who have often impressed me this season, were not at their usual level, but this win temporarily puts them in fourth place in the standings, waiting to see what Juventus will do this evening against Verona. The Milan fans booed a lot, showing their dissatisfaction with a season that has been insufficient so far. What surprised me, watching Milan, is that there has been too much confusion, an exaggerated frenzy that led to a very unclean development of play. Sometimes the Rossoneri accelerated, sometimes they slowed down, but none of it seemed part of a specific tactical plan."

Sacchi added:
"Lazio, on the other hand, plays a very vertical style of football and always looks to dominate the opponent. On one side, Milan's side, there was a lot of carelessness, while on the other, I saw a team with great understanding that knows how to position itself on the field. Leao did a couple of good things, credit where it's due, but can two things in a game really be enough? In my view, they are few. And anyway, especially defensively, I didn’t notice the order necessary to handle the opponent's advances. Now, considering Milan's current state, it seems difficult for them to get back into the race for a Champions League spot. The problem is that, playing like this, the club loses its appeal, displeases the fans, and creates controversies that don’t help build for the future."
Sacchi concluded:
"I remain convinced that everything depends on the decisions made in the summer during the transfer window. Decisions I’ve always judged wrong, because they hired a coach (Fonseca) who didn’t have the full trust of the management, and they brought in players who weren’t suited to his playing style. Under these conditions, it’s hard to do well. And Conceição inherited a team he didn’t build and, so far, hasn’t been able to instill his own style."
