Maxim De Cuyper is one of the players Milan is following with great interest for next season. This is not currently an ongoing deal, primarily due to timing—Milan has yet to appoint a Sporting Director, followed by a head coach. However, the Belgian full-back, born in 2000, who has impressed in this season’s Champions League and eliminated Atalanta, is at the top of the Rossoneri scouting list as a potential successor to Theo Hernández. The French full-back, with just one year remaining on his contract, is set to leave, especially since renewal negotiations have completely stalled.

Born and developed as a player at Club Brugge, De Cuyper has been a regular member of the Belgian national team since last June and is under contract with the Flemish club until June 30, 2028. A fan favorite and a key figure in the squad, he will lead his team in their attempt to pull off an upset against Aston Villa tomorrow and secure a spot among Europe’s top eight. He is deeply attached to his current club and will not force an exit.

However, come summer, at 24 years old, the time may be right for him to move on. Both De Cuyper and Club Brugge will listen to offers, with an initial valuation set between €15-20 million, though it could rise depending on the level of interest. As always, much will depend on the offers received and the clubs that step forward. Several Premier League sides are monitoring him closely, just like Milan, which will only be able to make concrete moves in the market after resolving a couple of key internal matters.
