"I think it's inevitable that we move towards a new stadium to keep up with what's happening in the world, especially for clubs that need to increase their revenues."
Former AC Milan player Massimo Ambrosini said this while speaking about Milan’s new stadium on the sidelines of the presentation of the Milano Marathon at the Milan City Hall.
"This is coming from someone who experienced the best moments of his life at San Siro," he added, referring to the fact that the Meazza will largely be demolished and repurposed. "It's a huge shame, but I think it's something inevitable."
"We could have sped things up a bit," he concluded. "The decision to hold the Olympic Games' opening ceremony at San Siro, in my opinion, has delayed the timeline," as reported via Milan News who cited ANSA.
