Gianluca Di Marzio, journalist and market expert, spoke this way on Sky Sport Italia recently, taking stock of Milan and the choices of the sporting director, the club, and the coach. Here's what he had to say:

"American ownerships tend to conduct several interviews, several meetings— even 7, 8, or 10— to select members of the sporting area or other areas, so that the ownership is convinced that the person is the right one. Giorgio Furlani has taken back control of the sporting director dossier after the initial meetings conducted by Cardinale and Ibrahimovic."
Di Marzio continued:
"Paratici and Tare remain in the race, aside from other possible surprises such as Tony D’Amico or a foreign profile, although I hope not, because the ideal sporting director for Milan today must have a deep knowledge of Italian football."
