At this stage of the season, AC Milan's off-field efforts are entirely focused on finding the sporting director who will join the management team, and it is hoped that this person will be the missing piece of a team that was lacking in squad-building last season, making mistakes and repeatedly backtracking on decisions, disavowing them.

Once the new sporting director is appointed, however, with a general agreement already reached with Fabio Paratici, there will be another thorny issue to address: that of the coach. In fact, it is truly difficult and unthinkable that, from July onwards, Sergio Conceição could still be in charge of the Rossoneri bench, even in the event of winning the Coppa Italia.
Who will Paratici choose as Milan head coach?
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's print edition, the names, especially in light of the desire to hire Paratici, are essentially three. We are talking about Marseille's boss, Roberto De Zerbi, free agent Massimiliano Allegri and Napoli's tactician, Antonio Conte.
Roberto De Zerbi currently seems a little ahead of the competition: he is very much liked by Paratici.
