Luka Jovic has fulfilled the dreams he had as a child: wearing the shirts of Real Madrid and Milan. For the second one, he has to thank Geoffrey Moncada in addition to his own qualities. It was precisely the French executive who carried out the swift negotiation with Fali Ramadani in the summer of 2023. A winning bet, considering that the Serbian striker arrived at Milan on a free transfer and, especially in his first season, often pulled the team out of trouble in difficult moments.

Moncada appreciates Luka Jovic
In the last two seasons, Milan has decided to rely on a working team where every decision is made after an internal vote involving all the club’s executives. And this approach will continue in the near future, according to what Giorgio Furlani has announced. Regarding Luka's file, whose contract will expire at the end of the season, Geoffrey Moncada will vote in favor of a renewal: the Rossoneri club can exercise the clause to automatically extend the contract for another season by the first half of July.
It's up for the sporing director...
Except for the case of Mike Maignan—who is in talks with the club over a contract renewal—Milan has decided to postpone all market decisions until after Easter, a key period for choosing the new sporting director. That is why Luka Jovic must wait to learn about his future, remaining focused on the present: many goals in this final part of the season could bring other executives besides Geoffrey Moncada to his side. The Serbian striker has received interest from Turkey, from Trabzonspor and Besiktas, but has given absolute priority to Milan.
