Two days have passed since the Coppa Italia final which, in fact, marked the end of Milan’s season. An unacceptable performance from the Rossoneri team that certifies the season as a failure, according to what was said after the match by CEO Giorgio Furlani. The dock is full of defendants, but at the same time there is no time to waste and it is necessary to restart with a new plan. And for the coach, a name comes back into focus.

Winning coach
This morning La Gazzetta dello Sport highlights how the only way to restart after a season like this, in which the choices regarding coaches left much to be desired, is to appoint a winning coach. And among these names, since Wednesday evening, the profile of Vincenzo Italiano has also emerged with greater force. As reported, the Bologna coach, who has been on the Rossoneri management's list for some time, impressed for the way he led his team to win the Cup precisely against Milan. It was the first trophy for the coach born in Karlsruhe, but in reality his CV is full of achievements: from successes in Serie C, to keeping Spezia in Serie A, the three finals with Fiorentina, and now the great season with the Rossoblù.
At the moment, sporting director Sartori would like to lock him in with a contract until 2027: but who knows what can happen if Milan were to knock firmly... Other strong names are those of Massimiliano Allegri and Gian Piero Gasperini.
AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale is disappointed
In the meantime, clarity will have to be brought within the club. Today La Gazzetta reports a disappointed Gerry Cardinale, particularly regarding the position of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whom he had repeatedly indicated as his eyes and mouth at Milanello. At the end of his first full season with powers, during which he exposed himself a great deal especially on issues related to the transfer market, it cannot be said that Ibra enjoys a great reputation: he too has ended up on the dock, and his image, exploited by Cardinale also for global promotion purposes, is not well seen by Rossoneri supporters, as can be clearly read on social media. The American owner is disappointed and the sporting area is rejected: Maldini and Massara were sacked, and it is unlikely the same will happen with Ibra, who will, however, be downsized with the arrival of a sporting director.
