According to Claudio Raimondi, speaking to SportMediaset on Italia Uno, the Igli Tare era officially began yesterday as the new sporting director of Milan. There are several issues he will have to resolve in the coming weeks, including resisting Manchester City’s attempt to sign Tijjani Reijnders and dealing with the contract renewal situations of Maignan and Theo Hernandez.

The top priority of the new Milan sporting director, however, is obviously the future of the Milan bench: with Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri now out of the picture, the two leading candidates are currently Vincenzo Italiano and Thiago Motta.
The former is in negotiations with Bologna for a renewal, but until there is a signature, the Rossoneri will not give up. If Italiano also slips away, then the name of Thiago Motta—already pursued by the Rossoneri a year ago—would come back into fashion.
