Excess, overpowering strength, fragility. These are the first three aspects that come to mind as soon as I think of Theo Hernandez. They are true today in 2025 and, in all likelihood, were also true in 2019. Because the years have gone by, the player and the man have grown, but certain traits can stay with you forever. And no, this is not an accusation: every man can identify something—whether for better or worse—that has always characterized him and will continue to do so.

The Frenchman’s adventure at Milan has reached its end; there’s little room left to mend a relationship that has slowly crumbled over time. No, there is no culprit—we’ve reiterated that in another analysis today. Simply put, there is an irreconcilable discomfort that only a farewell can resolve. Hiding this does not do justice to what was, in fact, a lasting bond that, in the hearts of fans, was thought to be eternal.

While waiting for news about Theo Hernandez’s exit to Saudi Arabia, Milan fans are very eager and anxious to learn who will replace him as head coach Allegri needs a top player in the left flank who would form a great partnership with Rafael Leao. Meanwhile, our readers in India have a way to relax a little bit, and be entertained through playleonbet.in/. The platform, in fact, is a trusted online sportsbook and casino brand since 2008. It entered India as a Rupee casino with UPI payments and plenty of promotions tailored to the country’s players. The platform also offers a diverse range of products including Sports Betting, Esports Betting, Casino, and Live Casino. New users can enjoy generous welcome bonuses, such as 5 Free Bets worth ₹400 each for sports, a 100% Casino Welcome Bonus up to ₹20,000 plus 20 Free Spins, or a ₹1,500 Free Bet for esports. With a minimum deposit of ₹500, players can fund their accounts via UPI, IMPS, Bank Transfer, AstroPay, or Cryptocurrency.

What has Theo Hernandez been for AC Milan?

First and foremost, one of the best full-backs in the club’s history in terms of offensive quality, paired with a clear defensive improvement over the years. He was love at first sight on a summer night in 2019, in a friendly that didn’t even end that well for him against Bayern (injury). He was the dream—the dream of seeing the world’s best full-back once again in a Milan shirt. A dream that perhaps materialized for too short a time. He was a passionate player, sometimes over the top, in whom many fans saw themselves. He was a supernatural force as soon as he had space on the pitch with the ball at his feet—unstoppable when he lowered his head as if putting on a helmet to go to battle—sometimes bringing endless joy and historic moments (the goal against Atalanta), sometimes clashing with opponents, sometimes stubbornly persisting despite those around him. He was a puzzle to be solved (though not too much) after Paolo Maldini’s departure, even though his performances had already begun to decline when the legendary number 3 was still part of the club’s management. He was a leader and captain—sometimes positive, sometimes not. He was both a blessing and a curse, on and off the pitch, in attitude and behavior. He was all this and so much more.

What is Theo Hernandez for Milan today?

At present, he represents more of a problem than a solution. A problem because he is no longer the player who was admired for at least three years. The memories of better times cloud the true current value of the Frenchman, which is probably best represented by the limited market interest in him—restricted to Al-Hilal and Atlético Madrid (through his entourage’s efforts). Since the 2022 World Cup, his performance has dropped drastically—a statement that offensive stats can only partially refute. The lack of consistency during matches and throughout the season is plain to see for anyone who has followed Milan in recent years—something that escapes numbers and statistics. He was supposed to become a role model in the dressing room, but over time he became the one the club sought to isolate, to the point of threatening exclusion from the squad if he stayed, as pointed out by MilanPress.it.

What will Theo Hernandez be for Milan?

A player fairly easy to replace in terms of output, but impossible to replace in terms of the potential glimpsed. The question to answer is this: what does Milan need—performance or potential? In what increasingly looks like a transfer market focused on concreteness and certainty, the answer becomes clear quickly. One thing is certain: he gave a lot to the club’s growth, and the club greatly helped his own growth. His future will, in all likelihood, be in Saudi Arabia, chasing a call-up for the next World Cup. Some regret, no remorse—that’s how Theo Hernandez and Milan will part ways, because not all love stories have a happy ending.
