Milan isn't wasting any time and continues to explore profiles for Massimiliano Allegri’s new attack. According to Corriere dello Sport, one of the names being considered for the striker role is Serhou Guirassy of Borussia Dortmund, for whom the German club is demanding €70 million.
Clearly, at that price, it’s almost impossible for the Rossoneri to push forward with the deal, but actual negotiations are expected to begin only after the Club World Cup, when it will become clearer whether the Germans are willing to significantly lower their demands.
The idea of Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri is to place their trust in Santiago Gimenez, but also to bring in another striker to compete with the Mexican. It’s true that Milan will only be playing in the league, as well as the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup, but in the event of injuries or dips in form, the club wants a solid alternative.
Guirassy would be much, much more than that.
The investment would be justified by the quality of the player, who is sought after by all the top European clubs following seasons that have established him as one of the best in his role worldwide. However, it’s unlikely that Borussia Dortmund will drastically lower their demands.
