Luca Bianchin, journalist for La Gazzetta dello Sport, spoke about Luka Modric's potential role at Milan:
"Modric’s professionalism is certainly no secret in 2025: he’s an extremely serious player, and has always been in love with Milan. He’s also a lover of precision: ‘As a child I was extremely orderly,’ he wrote in his autobiography ‘My Way’. ‘I like everything to be in its place. Objects should each have their designated spot. When I return home, I immediately notice if something has been moved or is not where it should be.’

With Allegri’s new Milan, it will work more or less the same way—except this time, it’ll be up to him to keep the team organized, likely playing in front of the defense. That’s where Allegri sees him, more than in a wider position on the right or left side of midfield.
The numbers from last season say it all. Modric played 35 La Liga matches, 17 of them as a starter. He added 14 Champions League games, 5 in the Copa del Rey, the UEFA Super Cup, the Spanish Super Cup, the FIFA Intercontinental Cup in December against Pachuca, and now three more games at the Club World Cup. A staggering 60-game season at nearly 40 years of age—with the tally potentially reaching 64. Tired? Not really, if Milan comes calling."
