After closing deals for Luka Modric and Samuele Ricci, Milan is ready to accelerate for Ardon Jashari with a clearly significant fee, well above the usual 20 million euros that Milan spends on a player's transfer.
The latest offer is 32.5 million in fixed fees plus 5.5 million in bonuses—a total that could make Club Brugge waver and fuels optimism. To get to know Jashari better, Milannews.it spoke with an expert on Belgian football, journalist Alec Cordolcini from Guerin Sportivo.
Below is an excerpt of his words to MilanNews.it:
Ardon Jashari seems to be getting closer to Milan. Given the cost and where he's coming from, there could be some doubts, considering the precedent.
"Let’s say that considering De Ketelaere’s recent past, it’s almost inevitable to draw a comparison with another Brugge player who cost a fair amount. However, I would say this is a different story. Jashari is a different player and would be arriving with a different level of experience compared to a young man who was still developing."
Even in terms of personality, we imagine there could be a certain difference.
"Without a doubt. De Ketelaere was a kid raised by Brugge who had never left Brugge—everything was new to him. In this respect, Jashari has more experience, having changed teams and countries. He has a different personality, much more charismatic."
