At the press conference ahead of the Gold Cup final against the United States—which Mexico eventually won—Santiago Giménez revealed that both he and AC Milan plan for him to remain with the Rossoneri next season to seize his chances and repay the significant financial investment the club made in January.

Despite this, however, Milan’s strategy remains unchanged: during this transfer window, they intend to sign a new center-forward. This is because 'El Bebote' cannot be the sole option for such a crucial and delicate role as the striker. It is no coincidence then that this morning La Gazzetta dello Sport has once again mentioned the name of Dušan Vlahović, who is seriously tempted by Max Allegri. But the Serbian isn’t the only name on the list—Milan is also reportedly considering Victor Boniface, the 2000-born striker from Bayer Leverkusen, who, among other things, decided the Champions League match between the German side and Milan last season.

Milan evaluates Boniface: here’s how much he costs
At the start of 2025, Victor Boniface was valued at around 50–60 euros million. However, that price has since dropped significantly due to a series of injuries. Meanwhile, former Roma player Patrik Schick has stepped up once again and become Leverkusen’s real attacking reference point.
Because of this, Boniface could arrive in Italy for a fee between €30 and €40 million, according to La Gazzetta. Still, the negotiation would need to be built from scratch, and the Germans have already shown with Xhaka that they are tough negotiators. As for the salary, it wouldn’t be an issue—especially since a report from September 2024 revealed that the Nigerian currently earns just €2 million gross per season.
