Juventus is determined to rebuild the “engine” of Igor Tudor’s team and has set its sights on Granit Xhaka of Bayer Leverkusen, who was also tracked by Milan in recent weeks. Last season’s midfield overhaul wasn’t enough, and at Continassa they are ready to take action with at least one signing—possibly two—if they manage to cash in on the departure of Douglas Luiz, who is now on the fringes. This was reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, which highlights a clear intention to raise the level of the midfield.

Damien Comolli is looking for a new destination for the Brazilian Douglas Luiz (the French executive held talks with his agent in Miami), and at the same time is working on several fronts to find a midfielder who can partner with the untouchable Khephren Thuram, captain Manuel Locatelli, and the versatile Weston McKennie. Tudor’s priority is a dynamic, versatile midfielder who is effective in both phases of play. Juventus’s dream signing remains Sandro Tonali, but Newcastle are demanding no less than 60–70 million euros, making the pursuit difficult.

Thus, alongside the target Davide Frattesi, the Xhaka track has emerged. The Swiss midfielder, 32, is a profile of experience and international pedigree, a leader of Bayer Leverkusen’s title-winning team in 2023. For Juventus, Xhaka would be a practical and “low-cost” option: 12–15 million euros could be enough to convince Bayer.
