AC Milan has been working on the pitch for two days, and from Monday’s open training session, an interesting architectural project was noticeable: building a bridge to bring Rafael Leao to a higher level, to the mountain inhabited by players who make the difference — the kind of difference that, especially last season, he was often criticized for lacking.
To achieve this, head coach Max Allegri has decided to start using the carrot rather than the stick, just as Stefano Pioli did, and unlike his two predecessors, Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceição. Regarding this experiment, La Gazzetta dello Sport headlined this morning:
“Affection and reminders. Max’s recipe to launch Leao.”
