Corriere dello Sport, in today’s edition, provided an update on the situation surrounding the negotiations that could bring Ardon Jashari from Club Brugge to AC Milan in this summer transfer window. Milan had expected to receive the green light from Brugge yesterday in response to their offer — a proposal worth €37 million (€32 million fixed, €3 million in easily achievable bonuses, and €2 million in more difficult bonuses) — but the Belgian club has yet to give its approval. They are holding out until the very end.

If the move were to go through, Jashari's arrival in the Rossoneri squad would come at a cost almost identical to what Milan paid in 2022 to secure Belgian football’s former “enfant prodige,” Charles De Ketelaere. But there’s more: the potential Jashari deal would become the second most expensive sale in both Club Brugge and Belgian football history (first, if bonuses are included), and it would be Milan’s most expensive signing of the RedBird era.
Brugge bought Jashari a year ago from Luzern for €6 million — and now they would be selling him for six times that amount. Credit goes to the talent of the 2002-born midfielder, who is complete and has a strong personality. Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri would like to place him in the role previously held by Tijjani Reijnders, though without expecting him to immediately reach the Dutchman’s level.
Reijnders was more attack-minded and gradually became very effective in front of goal, while Jashari is still developing in that area. Compared to Reijnders, Corriere dello Sport notes, the Swiss international of Macedonian descent is more solid defensively, has better stamina, and greater strength in challenges. He’s an athletically strong player, capable of covering large areas of the pitch when chasing the ball and able to drive forward with pace — even while carrying the ball.
