AC Milan seems to be very close to closing a deal for a new right-back, thus covering a position left vacant after the sale of Emerson Royal. Matteo Moretto, in a video on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, shared the latest on Athekame:
“Milan is very, very close to Athekame, right-back of Young Boys, class of 2004. Young Boys are asking for around 10 million euros, and Milan expects to reach the signing stage by Wednesday. He’s a 2004-born player who grew up in Switzerland and has played in the Champions League against Atalanta and Inter. We’ll see what kind of prospect he turns out to be. Milan believes in him. There were also other young players on the list with the same playing style and age. As of today, there is a total agreement between Athekame and Milan, from the player’s side, there are no issues: the right-back has already said yes and can’t wait to wear the Rossoneri shirt. The two clubs are in close contact to reach a complete closure of the deal: I expect the deal to be finalized by Wednesday.”
