A lightning deal...
On the night between Thursday and Friday, Ismael Bennacer became a new Dinamo Zagreb player. The Algerian midfielder, no longer part of Milan’s plans after returning from months on loan at Marseille, moves on a free loan with an option to buy set at around €10 million. The official announcement came directly from Dinamo, who will cover about 40% of his €4 million net yearly salary. The rest will be paid by Milan, with whom Bennacer is under contract until June 30, 2027, as pointed out by La Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's print edition.

In Zagreb, the Algerian will reunite with Zvonimir Boban, who pushed strongly to bring him to Milan in 2019. Only a few months ago, Dinamo’s current president and former Milan Chief Football Officer said of Bennacer: "He is an extraordinary, underrated player. Ismael wins more balls per minute played than anyone in the world. He is also one of the players who touches the ball the most relative to minutes played, always involved in the game.”
With his departure, Milan are left with only one surplus player, Adli, while talks continue over a contract termination with Origi.
