No good news is coming from Milanello.
Rafael Leao is likely to miss the match against Bologna, the third of this season, scheduled for Sunday at 20:45 at San Siro. The Portuguese Milan player, after suffering a right calf injury in the first official minutes of the season against Bari, missed the first two league games against Cremonese and Lecce hoping to recover for the post-break return. The calf still does not seem fully recovered, and Allegri risks having to do without Leao against Bologna as well.
The situation
Leao had just scored Milan's first goal of the season against Bari after a little over 10 minutes when he felt something wrong in his right calf and was substituted. Medical tests showed a muscle strain but ruled out a tear. After missing the first game against Cremonese, where his absence was strongly felt, he was doubtful for Lecce but was not taken as a precaution.
For the same reason and to recover properly, Leao was not called up for Portugal and stayed at Milanello training even during the break. Despite this, the calf issue does not seem fully resolved and will likely force him to miss Milan's first big match of the season, as relayed via the Milan News website.
