The wait is starting to weigh heavily. Santiago Gimenez has yet to score for Milan, despite putting in committed performances for the team, as Max Allegri has confirmed. What really matters for a striker, however, is the score sheet, which remains stuck at zero, and as the weeks pass, doubts and inevitable pressure increase.

Allegri keeps trusting Santiago Gimenez

Allegri is a manager, he always has been, and his past experiences have taught him that players like this need to be handled carefully in moments like these. The Milan coach seems to be doing just that with Gimenez, continuing to show trust by playing him even though things are not going according to plan. Allegri fields him, encourages him, pushes him to regain composure in front of goal, and above all, praises him on TV, as relayed via Milan News.

Gimenez, however, does not hide, aware that he needs to get back on track to repay the trust shown to him last January. His teammates support him as well, recognizing the difficult period the Mexican striker is going through, and he still gives his all in every match, offering runs, pressing, and constant sacrifice. Still, for a striker, goals are vital, and every game that passes without that long-awaited first goal risks becoming a mental burden.

The moment will come

Santi failed to score in the win against Udinese, true. But with hard work, the long-awaited moment will arrive. Football history is full of examples of strikers who struggled at first before breaking through. This could be the case for Gimenez, who has the technical and physical tools to turn things around. Sometimes all it takes is the simplest moment, a scrappy or lucky goal, to shift momentum and restore the confidence that could give Milan a striker capable of smashing through every defense, just as he did at Feyenoord.
