Ex Real Madrid veteran, currently a fan-favourite for AC Milan fans, Luka Modric, spoke to CBS Sports Golazo. He explained how, despite such a long career, he still manages to keep his motivation high during matches.
"How do I stay motivated? It is just love for the game. I really love football. I think that since I was born, when I see a picture from my childhood with the football, and I like football so much. This is the reason that keeps me motivated. When you win things, like you said, it's a unique feeling, and you want to repeat it, and this is what keeps me motivated to win things because it is like I told you: a great feeling, unique."
Modric, what is your secret?
"There's no secret (laughs). I don't know. I cannot tell you one thing. There are so many things that need to be put together, but the most is the love for the game and to continue sacrificing yourself and not to be satisfied with what you did. In football, you need to always prove yourself, matter how big you are, and what you did. You always have to continue proving yourself and this is how I am thinking, and it is probably because of this that I am still at this level"
