In his latest video published on YouTube, transfer market expert Matteo Moretto spoke about Milan, focusing in particular on the situation regarding Mike Maignan’s contract. The Rossoneri goalkeeper and captain has a deal expiring at the end of this season in June 2026. The French shot-stopper was already close to a transfer this past summer during the special pre-Club World Cup window, when Chelsea showed strong interest before eventually pulling back.

Matteo Moretto’s words on Mike Maignan’s contract:
“At Casa Milan, one of the main topics is the future of Milan’s goal. Maignan’s contract expires in June, and the renewal talks are cold, I’d even say frozen or blocked. The feeling is this could be Maignan’s last year at Milan. Whether he leaves in January for a fee below his value, or in June as a free agent, this possibility is growing stronger. Relations between Maignan’s agent and Milan are very cold. Back in February, they had reached a verbal agreement until 2028 with an improved salary. Then Milan decided to put everything on standby, partly for sporting reasons and partly for financial ones."
Moretto continued to talk about Maignan's situation:
"After that, the player opened the door to a definitive farewell, to the point he said yes to Chelsea, even if the clubs didn’t reach an agreement. As of today, the chances of Maignan renewing are extremely low. The most likely scenario is that Maignan leaves either in January or in June. Milan needs to protect itself and is already looking at possible goalkeepers who could eventually inherit Maignan’s role.”
