Two days left until Milan’s second big match in a week. After defeating the Italian champions Napoli in the fifth round of the league at San Siro, the Rossoneri will visit the Allianz Stadium on Sunday evening at 20:45 to face Juventus, another top clash that could prove decisive. This time there will be an added emotional factor: Massimiliano Allegri’s return to Turin as an opponent for the first time in ages, something that cannot be overlooked and could carry weight in the long run.

Twelve years later
As La Gazzetta dello Sport recalled this morning, the last time Allegri entered the Allianz Stadium as an enemy against Juve was exactly twelve years ago. It was October 6, 2013, and the man from Livorno was coaching Milan, from which he would be dismissed a few months later in January. Antonio Conte’s Juventus won 3-2. Much has happened between that day and October 5, 2025, the date of this season’s clash. Allegri went on to write history with Juventus and in Italian football. This year he returned to Milanello, the place that first elevated him, and he now seeks revenge against those who twice dismissed him and twice regretted it.
Super attack
Max’s return to the bench, after a sabbatical year, has been marked by what looks like a renewal of his football, though his core principles remain unchanged: solidity and balance. For this reason, Allegri has set up Milan in a 3-5-2, a less unbalanced team that can rotate its offensive talent. With Leao out, Christian Pulisic has stepped up in attack, and on Sunday the Rossoneri will once again rely on his plays, which already brought Napoli to their knees. Alongside him the favorite is Santi Gimenez, not prolific and expected to leave in the summer, but now winning Allegri’s trust through his hard work. From the bench, the coach will be able to count on Christopher Nkunku, unused last Sunday but improving in fitness, as well as Rafael Leao, who hopes to be sharper than he was in his cameo against Napoli.
