Massimiliano Allegri, Milan’s coach, spoke at the press conference after Juventus - Milan, which ended in a goalless draw.

Any regrets?

“The positive is that we didn’t concede and we played a good game, reading it well, especially in the first half when we had little space. In the second half we grew a lot after Maignan’s save and had several chances. The point is positive, but we have to leave this game angry. We have to understand that when we have the opponent under control, we have to finish them off, in a sporting sense. Maybe it’s better we didn’t win, otherwise we would have thought we were fine, but there are many things to fix.”

Emotions returning?

“Nothing special happened. I was emotional when I arrived. I was very happy to see so many people I worked with, shared joy and tears with. The fans welcomed me well and I can only be happy. Now there’s the break: we need to internalize that when we have the opponent under control, we have to crush them.”

Did you expect more from the substitutes?

“They came in well, then mistakes happen. The important thing is that they improve their condition. Nkunku arrived late, Leao was out for 45 days. Substitutions are important. We must keep balance because so far we haven’t done anything.”

Why was Rafael Leao inaccurate?

“Explaining it is difficult. I can only say Rafa is working hard to reach optimal condition. We need him at his best, same for Nkunku. Having both in top form is very important.”

What are the forward hierarchies?

“Rafa and Nkunku are behind in condition. Tonight Gimenez played well: worked for the team, created chances, earned the penalty. I subbed him because I thought a moment of genius from Leao could help us win, otherwise Santi didn’t deserve to leave. But the whole team did well.”

How are penalties in training? َAllegri replied:

“Pulisic is the penalty taker, one missed penalty doesn’t change anything. I have to see who takes it if he’s not there.”

How far can this Milan team go?

“Juve is an excellent team and hasn’t lost. For us, the important thing is to arrive in March in the best condition to finish in the top four.”
