There’s rarely enough talk about young talents, especially Italian ones, within the youth sectors or Primavera teams of major Serie A clubs. Teams often look abroad to fill gaps in their squads, which usually leads to high spending and poor sporting results. For this reason, Sportitalia director SportItalia's Michele Criscitiello spoke about a Milan Primavera player who, in his view, has the potential to make it in the first team. Here’s what the president of Folgore Caratese said:
“Remember this name, because we never talk about Italian players. I’m calling him the new Modric because he’s blond, otherwise they’ll have me locked up tomorrow, but Milan have a Modric-type midfielder who used to play as an attacking midfielder and is now a deep-lying playmaker. Pandolfi, born in 2008, from Milan’s Primavera. He’s now in Qatar for the Under-17 World Cup with Italy. A very strong player, with sharp intelligence, very strong in front of the defense. Pandolfi, 2008," as relayed via Milan News.
