Yesterday Milan started preparing for Sunday’s derby. Yesterday Mike Maignan, Matteo Gabbia, and Samuele Ricci returned to Milanello twenty-four hours ahead of schedule, while today and tomorrow all the other Milan players who were involved with their national teams during this break are expected. The most important news from yesterday was the return of Adrien Rabiot to group training, while Santiago Gimenez worked separately again and is therefore still in doubt.

Rabiot again:
The French midfielder has fully recovered from the soleus injury suffered with France which kept him out for a month, and on Sunday he will not only be among Max Allegri’s called-up players, he will also start from the first minute. Tuttosport reports this this morning and adds that the former Marseille player will play in midfield together with the usual Fofana and Modric. The rest of the lineup is practically set, Maignan in goal, Tomori, Gabbia, and Pavlovic in defense, Saelemaekers on the right, while in attack the pair of Pulisic and Leao will start together for the first time from the opening minute in this league season.
Allegri has one single doubt in his Milan lineup for the derby:
Allegri’s only doubt is on the left flank where Davide Bartesaghi and Pervis Estupinan are fighting for the starting spot, the Italian wide player will return tomorrow to the Carnago Sports Center after his commitments with the Under-21 national team, while the South American player stayed at Milanello during this break to improve his condition after being out for several weeks due to an ankle injury.
