How should Milan approach the transfer market to solve two key issues in Allegri’s squad?

The Rossoneri fans want to leave the derby with a positive result, but above all with the awareness that Milan’s performance in Parma was a bad dream, a nightmare, a setback that took us back a year.

The same long squad, the same rough duels, the dangerous one-on-ones across the pitch. In the first fifteen minutes of the second half, Mike Maignan faced more danger than in the first ten league games.

Milan fans have already put the Parma result behind them during this international break and are buzzing for the next challenge: the Derby della Madonnina. With the highly anticipated clash fast approaching, many football fans are keeping the adrenaline high on platforms like Zuplay Casino, where they can place live bets on football matches and other major sports, as well as enjoy a wide range of casino games while counting down to Milan’s next big game.

Perhaps it is not only an issue caused by Adrien Rabiot’s absence, who was also missing in other matches where Milan had shown good balance, claims Pellegatti in a recent editorial for Milan News. In fact, it may be up to head coach Massimiliano Allegri, without whom the AC Milan team might have been in a much lower position in the Serie A standings, to understand what happened.

The Milan Tactician, formerly of Juventus, almost seems to have studied economics in depth. He has learned, like any good finance expert applying theory to football, that diversification is the key to success. He knows when to set up a cautious or more offensive Milan, based on the players available or the opponents. Many critics insist on labeling the Livorno coach, but Max avoids every rule and principle, focused only on the objective.

What are Allegri's transfer market plans for Milan today and tomorrow?

The Italian tactician wants, or maybe even might be demanding a striker for the second part of the season. During the away match against Carlos Cuesta’s Parma, while Milan played on the right flank in the second half, you can take a look at the box at some instance and realise it’s nearly actually empty, with only Samuele Ricci, (we repeat: Ricc, the midfielder) being the only AC Milan player, alone like a desert Tuareg. That is definitely not a good tactical sign.

Regarding the struggling Santiago Gimenez, his numbers are the following: 11 appearances between Serie A and Coppa Italia (he managed to clock 768 minutes on the pitch) while scoring only one goal and providing two assists as well. These are not good numbers for a club of Milan’s stature who have high ambitions this season under the guidance of experienced head coach Massimiliano Allegri.

As per journalist Carlo Pellegatti, he claims that he has favourite player for the striker’s role: it is Jean-Philippe Mateta, a 28-year-old French striker, 192 centimetres tall, currently at Crystal Palace, contract until 2027, costing 25–30 million euros, and maybe the English would like Gimenez in exchange. Too expensive? With all the money saved for a central striker in these “roaring twenties,” the piggy bank is full of euros for a striker.

What about the goalkeeping situation?

As for the future, in terms of transfer market moves, the idea of having one of the best goalkeepers in the world and losing him on a free move, remains unbearable to the majority of the Rossoneri supporters. Whoever has the fortune to field Mike Maignan, meaning at least ten points gained in the standings, and lets him go to other clubs has no justification. If he must leave, there is only one goalkeeper to sign, and quickly. One name noted by Pellegatti is Elia Caprile, who is a strong and talented shotstopper with an important room for growth. But, there is also talk of Inter also being interested in securing his services. If Milan are really serious for him, then losing him to the Nerazzurri would be a serious mistake.
