Massimiliano Allegri, the Rossoneri coach, spoke to Sky Sport 24 after Milan’s 1-0 win over Lazio. He was also sent off following the VAR incident. His statements.
How did you experience the final minutes?
"There was some confusion. It was not easy for the referee to make a decision after being called to the VAR. In the first half we struggled because Lazio pressed a lot and blocked passing lanes. In the second half we raised the tempo and they dropped, with favorable situations even before the goal."
Leao said dreaming is free… Allegri commented:
"We need to keep working, keep this humility, keep the desire to win the ball from the opponent. Play as a team like the boys are doing. There is enthusiasm with the fans. Credit to the boys who give everything on the pitch and never step back."
Is Leao learning to play as a number 9?
"At Lille he played as a center forward. Tonight he scored. When the ball goes wide he attacks the box and he has freedom to move."
How important is Adrien Rabiot?
"They are all important. Adrien has grown a lot compared to his last year at Juve. He has strong physical power and he is a team player. If you want to fight at the top you need a team player. Gabbia and Pavlovic too, they all put heart into what they do. Players have different engines, he is one of them."
What did you say to the referee?
"I only told him: ‘Every time you are there something messy happens.’ Because he was the referee against Cremonese. I did not insult him."
