AC Milan's head coach, Massimiliano Allegri, spoke to the media in a press conference after the victory against Lazio 1-0 (Rafael Leao's goal).
How is Christian Pulisic?
"We will know on Monday."
What sort of match was it?
"It was not a flat Milan, the credit goes to Lazio. They are a strong team and when they keep a high tempo and close passing lanes, playing against them becomes hard. In the second half we ran a bit harder, they dropped a bit. Matches last 95 minutes. When you fail to play in the first half, you must avoid going behind. The players did well in this."
What phase is Milan in?
"The room for improvement is in the individual players. If we are here, the credit goes to them. They all want to create the conditions to reach March in a good position for our main target, which is qualifying for the Champions League. You cannot create the conditions to win without team players."
Strong growth from Davide Bartesaghi...
"Credit goes to those who found him as a kid and helped him grow. In Italian football there are young players with talent who can do well, Bartesaghi is one of them. He has little match experience, but he is already more assertive because the more he plays the more courage he has. He also has a strong build, the build of a Milan player."
Allegri added:
"As I told the club, there are seasons where things do not go well, things happen. But if certain players were signed, it means they had important qualities. The work had to be done on this group I inherited."
What happened at the end? Allegri replied:
"On the penalty I did not insult the referee at all, in fact I went to congratulate him later because in that moment he managed things well. The poor guy found himself in the middle, but he made the choice he thought was right, so he did well."
