Fabio Capello, former Milan coach, spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport about Milan's win over Lazio:
"Maignan saves, Leao scores: okay, the formula works and Milan leads the Serie A table, waiting for Roma-Napoli. What matters is the substance, and Allegri can certainly be satisfied, even if, looking at the performance, I see some points to highlight. Milan beat Lazio while suffering too much: aside from the final scares over the possible penalty not given by the referee, I saw a team too passive in the first part of the game."
"For 20-25 minutes in the first half, Lazio controlled the match, and without Maignan’s saves the outcome could have been different, especially his stop on Gila’s header early in the game. I think Milan must always dominate at San Siro: given their characteristics, I expected Sarri’s team could cause problems with tight passing and the ability to close all spaces when out of possession, but Milan’s approach was far too passive. Probably also because, for once, we saw a “human” performance from that phenomenon called Luka Modric: the Croatian made more mistakes than usual, and it’s no coincidence that his teammates struggled to recover the ball."
