AC Milan are preparing for their upcoming cup and league matches, and there are updates from the medical staff on Christian Pulisic and Santiago Gimenez.
Massimiliano Allegri’s team sit top of Serie A after the win over Lazio at San Siro in matchday 13, but focus now shifts back to work. Lazio are the next opponent again, this time at the Olimpico in the Coppa Italia round of sixteen, with Milan seeking payback after the defeat in Milan and the late controversy over referee Collu’s decision on Pavlovic’s elbow touch in the box.
The squad followed the planned training schedule. Most of the group did recovery work today, along with the ongoing rehab program for the injured players.
Is Pulisic ready to rejoin the squad at Milanello?
Christian Pulisic is the closest to returning. He missed the Lazio match at San Siro due to muscle fatigue. In fact, he continued his individual program today. His condition is improving and, barring setbacks, MilanNews.it reports he is expected to rejoin the squad between tomorrow (Tuesday, December 2) and Wednesday, December 3.
The latest on Santiago Gimenez:
The situation is different for Santiago Gimenez, out since the ankle problem he picked up on October 28 against Atalanta.
Like Pulisic, the Mexican forward continued individual work. He is expected to return to field training but not yet with the squad, as he works on his condition after a month out, as pointed out by Calcio Mercato.
Over the next two weeks Milan will play three matches: Lazio in the Coppa Italia (Thursday, December 4 at 21:00), Torino in Serie A matchday 14 (Monday, December 8 at 20:45) and Sassuolo in the following league round (Sunday, December 14 at 12:30).
After these games, Milan will travel to Saudi Arabia for the Italian Supercup. The semifinal against Napoli is scheduled for Thursday, December 18 at 20:00.
