A major storyline even in these final weeks, the transfer market will reopen in less than three weeks for the usual winter session in January, and strong activity is expected. The question is whether all the rumors and reports will turn into real moves by the clubs.

AC Milan plans to strengthen mainly in attack, Allegri lacks a centre forward because Gimenez has not scored and has been out injured for a month and a half. According to Corriere dello Sport, Milan will need to sell someone to operate in the market.

On Santiago Gimenez:

For the centre forward role, the main surplus player is Gimenez. Last summer the Mexican striker was already very close to leaving and today, with zero goals in Serie A and an injury that has kept him off the pitch for too long, he again seems close to the exit. The agent and family of the Bebote insist that Santi wants to stay, but if the club receives an offer between 25 and 30 million, it will sit down at the table and assess it seriously. This would bring in funds to focus on a profile with traits more suitable for Allegri. There is the Icardi idea, complicated by concerns over his fitness and high salary. There are the returning options Zirkzee and Fullkrug from the Premier League. There is a Lucca option that needs careful evaluation.

Could Ruben Loftus-Cheek also leave AC Milan?

The former Feyenoord striker might not be the only departure. The noise around a possible exit for Ruben Loftus-Cheek has grown stronger. He wants more space and continuity to pursue his dream of earning a World Cup call-up from England coach Tuchel, who rates him highly. His entourage is working with Premier League clubs but also with teams in Germany to find interested buyers.

Here too, if Loftus leaves, Milan will need a replacement. As of today the leading names include Giovanni Fabbian from Bologna, who was also approached in the summer, and Mateo Kovacic from Manchester City, although he has played very little this season due to injury.
