Last night marked the beginning of Niclas Füllkrug’s Rossoneri adventure, as he arrived in Milan. Today he will undergo the customary medical examinations before signing his new contract with AC Milan.

The German striker, who joins on loan from West Ham with an option to buy, will be officially registered on 2 January, the day the winter transfer window opens. Thanks to a special exemption granted by the FIGC, he could already take the field that same evening in Cagliari.

Fullkrug to Milan, here we go!

This morning, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Füllkrug, who had already been targeted by Milan in the summer of 2024 when he was set to leave Borussia Dortmund but chose West Ham instead, strongly pushed for the English club to let him go on the terms proposed by Milan. The German, who will begin training at Milanello tomorrow, arrives because Max Allegri’s squad lacks a physical centre-forward like him, as well as a true striker capable of providing goals, given that Giménez and Nkunku are still stuck on zero goals in Serie A.

What about Nkunku's situation?

As for the Frenchman, the newspaper mentioned above adds that his future at Milan after such a disappointing first half of the season is far from secure. Signed in the summer transfer window for around €40 million amid high expectations, the former Chelsea player has so far failed to deliver and, in the opening months of the 2025–26 season, has scored just one goal in the Coppa Italia. Beyond his struggles in front of goal, Nkunku has also failed to convince with his overall performances, and if an attractive offer were to arrive, Milan would be ready to listen.
