After wrapping up the deal for Niclas Füllkrug, who underwent his medical examinations yesterday and will today step through the gates of Milanello for the first time to meet Max Allegri and his new teammates, Milan are close to finalising another attacking signing: Andrej Kostic, a striker born in 2007 who currently plays for Partizan Belgrade. The agreement between the two clubs still needs to be completed, while the deal between the player and the Rossoneri is already in place.
Andrej Kostic on AC Milan's agenda:
This was reported this morning by Tuttosport, which explains that the move has a double long-term rationale. On one hand, Kostic is a very young prospect, and on the other, his agent is Darko Ristic, a well-known representative who also manages the interests of Dušan Vlahović. It is no secret that Allegri often mentioned Vlahović’s name at Casa Milan last summer, but the club never pushed ahead because Juventus continued to demand a high fee, despite the Serbian striker having only one year left on his contract. At the end of this season, the former Fiorentina forward will be out of contract and therefore available on a free transfer.
What about Dusan Vlahovic?
Milan are therefore keeping a close watch on Vlahović, and it cannot be ruled out that Dušan was also discussed during the meetings between Milan and Ristic regarding Kostic. In the summer, especially if the red and black team returns to the Champions League, the club’s executives will need to expand the squad available to Allegri, and another centre-forward will be required, even if the option to buy Füllkrug is exercised. We will see how things develop. For now, Kostic is ready to arrive: a striker by trade, but also something of a trailblazer.
