AC Milan's match away from home against AS Roma in the Serie A ended with a 1-1 result.

The Rossoneri boss, Massimiliano Allegri, spoke to the media in a press conference after the match. Here are his words:

"Looking at the game, with hindsight everyone is good at judging. In the first half Roma, after our strong start, took control. Maignan made two or three crucial saves. In the second half it was a different match and it seemed to be going our way, but when things are like that, you get the penalty incident. We need to make fewer mistakes when teams press us high. Still, it is a good point. We gained a point on Napoli and we are ahead in terms of our final objective."

Is there regret at seeing Inter go +5, or more satisfaction for the point gained on the Champions League rivals?

"We do not think about Inter, we think about ourselves. This is a difficult period. We keep playing away from home. In the last matches, six away games and only three at home. We take one thing at a time. As I always say, Milan’s objective is to finish in the top four. Then, having the ambition to aim as high as possible is another matter, but the reality is that Milan must finish in the top four. Right now we are second, but the road is still long. And there is a lot to improve. Athekame came on and played a good match, De Winter is also growing well. So, calmly, feet on the ground, and we focus on what we need to do."

Allegri also said the following on the match:

"A difficult first half, apart from the first seven or eight minutes. I said, ‘Look tonight how technically clean we are.’ Then we made many mistakes and suffered. Of course, maintaining the intensity Roma had in the first half for 95 minutes would have been difficult. We took the lead, and the feeling was that it was easier for us to score the 0-2 than for them to make it 1-1, but then the penalty came."
