“Either we improve the squad, or we stay as we are.” That is Massimiliano Allegri’s thinking regarding the final days of the winter transfer window. After strengthening the attack with the signing of Niclas Füllkrug, the next objective is to reinforce the defence with a ready-made addition who can serve as a reliable alternative to Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic, and De Winter.
Is Mario Gila targeted by AC Milan for the summer?
As Tuttosport explains this morning, the Milan coach had wanted Federico Gatti, but Juventus never opened the door to his departure. In recent days, the name of Lazio defender Mario Gila has been heavily mentioned: contacts have already taken place between the parties, but after the Romagnoli case, it is unlikely that Lotito will allow him to leave now.

As a result, any move for the Spanish defender is more likely to be postponed until the summer. A more realistic option for the final stretch of the winter window could instead be Radu Drăgușin, who is set to leave Tottenham, having been used very little so far.
The formula issue
The main obstacle remains the transfer formula. So far, Spurs have not opened up to a loan with an option to buy, instead insisting on an obligation to purchase. With the January window nearing its close, time is running out. If the English club change their stance, Milan could make a move for the former Genoa defender between now and 2 February. Otherwise, Allegri will continue with the squad currently at his disposal.
