Speaking on Sky Sport, journalist and transfer expert Luca Marchetti also commented on the deal that would see Jean-Philippe Mateta extremely close to Milan. This was his take on the lightning-fast negotiations between Milan and Crystal Palace:
"People ask me what the difference is between Mateta going to Milan and him going to Juventus. It’s very simple. Milan put the money on the table straight away."
As also reported by transfer market expert Matteo Moretto, the French striker is increasingly close to becoming a new Milan striker with immediate effect. The Rossoneri pushed hard overnight and throughout today to have the French forward, born in 1997, available straight away. Moretto confirms: "Jean-Philippe Mateta to Milan immediately, only the very final green light from Crystal Palace is missing."
