During his usual video update on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano reviewed AC Milan’s situation and the transfer market operations connected to the Rossoneri club.
On Nkunku:
"The player confirmed what we’ve been saying here on the channel for weeks. Back in December, there were reports claiming Nkunku was close to Fenerbahçe. In the final days of the winter transfer window, there were stories about Roma and many other teams being linked to him. I can tell you that Nkunku never had the slightest intention of leaving Milan. He never had any thought of going elsewhere, not when Fenerbahçe made an approach, nor when other clubs were mentioned. Those were never real options, because Nkunku would never have considered a move away from Milan in January. He gave a very good interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport, with very kind words for his team and, above all, showing his desire to help in the best way possible, as he’s already been doing in recent weeks. Nkunku’s attitude is that of a player who is also a bit annoyed by all these rumors. He’s been linked with 300 clubs, but I’ve always told you here that the player’s intentions were crystal clear, and everyone realized it, to the point that Fenerbahçe disappeared from the picture in early January. The same goes for other Italian and European clubs he was linked with. Nkunku wants Milan; he wants to fight for his chances in the Rossoneri shirt. In the summer he had several opportunities, Newcastle, Leipzig, Leverkusen, but he chose Milan, which is why he never considered leaving. Then from now until the summer, it will be a different story," as relayed via Milan News.
On Alex Jimenez:
"All the paperwork has been finalized for Alex Jimenez. He has become a permanent Bournemouth player: the fee is €19 million, with Real Madrid retaining 50% of the deal, and the rest going to Milan. There are also bonuses worth over €3 million, so this is good news for Milan’s finances."
On Dusan Vlahović, Fabrizio Romano said:
"What I can tell you is that Vlahović hasn’t signed with anyone. He has many possibilities, and talks over a contract renewal with Juventus are currently completely on hold. We’ll see, in football, just a few matches can change everything, but as of today, the Juventus-Vlahović situation is totally stalled. Who has shown interest in Vlahović? Barcelona, but that depends on Lewandowski, and Bayern Munich, who are looking for a backup to Harry Kane, because Nicolas Jackson will leave at the end of the season. But right now, the Bavarians are only at the stage of phone calls made around October–November. He’s a name that should always be kept in mind for Milan’s evaluations, because Milan’s attack will depend on many factors. So it’s still too early to understand whether a Milan–Vlahović move could heat up or not, but he’s a player the club has always appreciated, and he would be a clear market opportunity if he doesn’t renew with Juventus.”
