After almost two weeks without matches, AC Milan are ready to return to the pitch for an official game: tomorrow evening the Rossoneri will in fact be away at Pisa in the early fixture of the 25th round of Serie A. Ahead of this match, Massimiliano Allegri can be pleased about the return of Christian Pulisic, while a few more days will still be needed before seeing Alexis Saelemaekers back in action, as he has not yet fully recovered from the muscle problem that had already kept him out against Bologna.
Back available:
This was reported this morning by Tuttosport, which explains that the Belgian will be replaced by Zachary Athekame, who scored in the first-leg match at San Siro: the Swiss player had already taken his place at the Dall’Ara against Bologna, giving positive responses. As for the attack, Pulisic has recovered but will initially start on the bench. The two starting spots will therefore be contested by the other three available forwards, namely Rafael Leão, Christopher Nkunku, and Niclas Füllkrug. Allegri will make a final decision after today’s finishing training session at Milanello before the team departs for Pisa, as relayed via Milan News.
Milan, changes in defence?
In midfield, alongside the “usual” Luka Modrić and Adrien Rabiot, Youssouf Fofana is expected to be confirmed, while on the left side there will once again be space for Davide Bartesaghi. Possible changes may come in defense, where Koni De Winter has performed very well in recent weeks and is one of the most in-form defenders in the Milan squad. This time, Matteo Gabbia could make way for him, after Strahinja Pavlović and then Fikayo Tomori were rested in the previous matches.
