Head coach Massimiliano Allegri spoke to DAZN at the end of Milan-Como 1-1. His words:
Is it still a long road in the standings?
"We always need to stay very calm. We were coming from two away wins, tonight facing Como was not simple. In the first half there was balance. In football, making a mistake can happen, we went behind and the team reacted well. At 1-1 we could have made better use of a few chances, but let us say we gained a point on Juventus, Napoli and Roma. We must only think about getting back to winning against Parma.”
You often looked for the ball over Como’s defensive line. The goal came from there. Allegri commented:
"Also because in the first half the match was very balanced, even dull. In the second half it was not easy to recover and we attacked the line on a counterattack, they were exposed. Rafa was very good to score, Jashari was good to give him that fine, decisive pass. It is our 24th consecutive positive result, we must stay calm, think about working, recover the key players we have. Saelemaekers has returned, Pulisic is improving, Leao as well, Fullkrug came on very well as always. We need confidence, stay composed and focus on work since at the moment we are within our objective and tonight’s point will be very important.”
What happened with the sending off? Allegri commented:
"I believe there was a foul, where, if I am not mistaken, Saelemaekers was starting a counterattack and was pulled by someone from the bench, I think Fabregas. Did he apologize? I understand, then next time if someone runs down the line I will make a sliding tackle and come in too. I went there to defend Saelemaekers, the player reacted and at that moment someone from Como approached me, I do not know who he is, but nothing happened.”
How is Strahinja Pavlovic?
“Fortunately he is fine.”
Even stronger focus on the Champions League, or is there still some ambition for the league title?
“Football is beautiful because from one day to the next there is always the unexpected, in a week the table can turn upside down. What we must do is continue to work and get results. On Sunday we have a home match against an opponent that gives little away, we must continue to win to keep the advantage over the teams behind us.”
