Marco Landucci, AC Milan’s assistant coach, acting as head coach today in the defeat against Parma due to Allegri’s suspension, spoke to the microphones of Sky Sport.
Here are his statements, as relayed via Milan News
How are you?
"What do we think… We are not happy, Parma played an excellent game. Today the ball just did not want to go in. We have to think that on Tuesday we get back to it. We are disappointed because we wanted the three points: we have had many positive results but now we start again."
Was it just a journalistic idea that you could keep up with Inter?
"The team is upset: we tried to cheer them up. We should not think about others but about our own path, scoring as many points as possible: we have to focus on our objective, which is to return to the Champions League."
Can you have an aggressive attitude right away in the first half as in the second? Landucci replied:
"We think this team has earned many points with this attitude. Then when you do not score and the result does not go your way, everything you do is wrong. I believe the attitude was correct. Parma was very good, tenacious on every ball. We were also unlucky, but this is football."
On the struggles against smaller teams:
"The Italian league is very difficult: every match has its pitfalls and there is a lot of balance. I believe it is the hardest in the world. Tonight we tried to do our best and we did not succeed. On Tuesday we start again and focus on the next match. There are games that do not go so well. Today Gabbia got injured in the warm-up, Loftus as well: a somewhat unusual evening."
