During his regular editorial for Sportitalia, director Michele Criscitiello spoke about Milan and more, effectively declaring the title race over in what he describes as a mediocre league lacking real quality:
“The drop in form of AC Milan, sudden and worrying despite having only the well known single weekly fixture, also wipes out the anticipation for the derby on March 8. No one asked Allegri to win the Scudetto, but without European competitions he had the duty to go all the way and not fall out of the title race so early. Milan’s collapse has no real explanation, other than a January transfer window that brought nothing positive. Our league is also full of half-level foreign players who take space away from Italians. But that is nothing new. Milan are handing the Scudetto to Inter, who will win the title without doing anything special. In fact, they will win despite losing many head-to-head clashes […]”.
