Milan is not experiencing a happy moment. First came the draw against Como, then the defeat against Parma and the consequent 10-point gap from Inter, accompanied by several refereeing decisions that only increased the tension. But on Max Allegri’s board, beyond all that, there is also a piece that is not performing according to what has always been its standards. We are talking about Christian Pulisic. Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport also addresses this, focusing on the very negative period the forward is going through.

Can Pulisic return to his best form?
The American has not scored since December 28, in the match against Verona at San Siro. Then, in the new year, he missed several games due to injury, a problem that in the long run slowed down the Rossoneri’s progress.
Since that match against Verona, won 3-0 also thanks to a goal from the American, Pulisic has not recorded a single goal or assist in the following ten games. Milan has never seen him go through such a deep dry spell. Yet at the start of the season, he had delivered an extraordinary performance with eight goals and two assists.
Pulisic struggles continue despite early season success:
Then there was a noticeable drop in performance, with some goals wasted in a striking manner. Like against Genoa, or twice in the match in Florence, against Lecce, and in the last match against Parma, where he failed from good positions. Additionally, there has been a drop in playing time in matches where Max Allegri fielded him. Against Pisa and Como, he played 13 minutes and 8 minutes respectively, only 21 minutes at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, while against Parma he played 62 minutes.
It is clear that this Milan would have needed the best Pulisic, especially in matches hungry for scoring chances. Massimiliano Allegri hopes that the American can return to his 2025 levels, meanwhile to consolidate second place but above all to have a bit more certainty, in a period of the season when many things seem not to be heading in the right direction, as pointed out by Milan News.
