After Mike Maignan, captain and leader of AC Milan, the club is now working to renew the contracts of other players as well, including for example Luka Modric, a true guiding light both on and off the pitch for the Rossoneri side. Having arrived last summer on a free transfer from Real Madrid, the Croatian champion signed a one year contract, but he has the option to extend for another season if he wishes. For now he has not yet made a decision about his future because at 40 there are many factors to consider and it is likely that his future will only be revealed at the end of the league campaign, before he heads to the World Cup with Croatia.

As reported this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport, everyone at Milan is urging him to stay for at least one more year. The first is certainly Max Allegri who in recent months has never missed an opportunity to praise his technical and personal qualities. Then there are his teammates, who call him “the Maestro” and see him as a true example to follow every day. The Milan fans, who have never failed to show him their affection, also want him to renew, as does the club, which knows very well how fundamental Modric has been in the Rossoneri revival this season.
When will Luka Modric decide his future?
At the moment the future is not something that troubles the Croatian player, who is focused on the present because there is still qualification for the next Champions League to secure. It is a competition he knows extremely well since he has won it six times in his career, but playing it in a Milan shirt would certainly have a special meaning. He will decide whether to renew or not and will do so only at the end of this season after making his evaluations, in particular he wants to understand whether he can still be useful to the Rossoneri cause. In the meantime everyone at Milan has begun their efforts to convince him and the feeling seems to be positive.
