Corinthians president, Osmar Stabile, has decided to block the transfer of the young 2006-born midfielder André to AC Milan. An agreement between the two clubs and between the Rossoneri and the player had already been reached, 15 million euros plus two million in bonuses plus 20 percent of any future resale. The player was set to sign a five year contract. The only step missing for the deal to go through was the signature of the head of the Brazilian club, who instead chose to veto the transfer after criticism from supporters and dissatisfaction from coach Dorival Júnior, who strongly opposed the possible sale of André.
Milan's offer too low:
This was reported by Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola and confirmed by Globo Esporte, which added that Stabile is expected to officially announce his decision today. According to the Corinthians president, Milan’s offer is too low, and the deal will only go through if the Rossoneri improve their financial proposal. In recent hours, coach Dorival had also stated that a talent like André is worth far more than the amount placed on the table by the Italian club.
André pushes for AC Milan:
The total 17 million euros offered by the Rossoneri is for 70 percent of the midfielder’s registration rights. The remaining 30 percent belongs to the Brazilian player, who has already said he is willing to give up his share in order to facilitate the move to Milanello. André is eager to join Milan, as is his entourage, which maintains that the deal is complete since the documents have been signed by all parties involved except the Corinthians president. It remains to be seen whether the situation will be resolved in the coming hours or whether Milan will decide to turn to FIFA over a unilateral breach of contract, as relayed via Milan News. The Brazilian club, however, is not concerned about this possible scenario and does not fear any legal consequences.
