Marco Amelia, former Milan goalkeeper, spoke to tuttomercatoweb.com about the Milan derby:
What kind of derby do you expect? Can a Milan victory reopen the title race, or is it already over for the Scudetto?
"I expect, as always, a great derby in the fantastic atmosphere of San Siro! I believe that even if Milan were to win, Inter’s lead would still be significant for the Scudetto. Something unusual would really have to happen, and it’s hard for me to imagine that right now."
Is it just a coincidence that Milan wins so many matches in the final minutes? Amelia said:
"When you manage to get results at the end of matches, it is definitely a sign of strong mental resilience, desire to win, and physical and athletic ability. It shows the capacity to control the game. There is also the individual skill of players who can decide the outcome of a match."
How do you view Allegri’s work at Milan? He is still criticized for the style of play.
"In football, everyone always has something to say, even those who have never been inside a locker room. That’s the beauty of the sport, and criticism is part of it. I believe Allegri is doing a great job at Milan, as he brought competitiveness back to the club."
