A defeat that weighs like a boulder on Milan's shoulders. The Rossoneri lose narrowly at the Olimpico against Lazio and fall further behind Inter, despite the Nerazzurri’s slip-up on Saturday against Atalanta. It was a poor performance by Massimiliano Allegri’s men, with the Livorno-born coach unable to counter what had been Maurizio Sarri’s game plan. And on a difficult evening, even Rafa Leao became confused.

Leao's frustrating night in Lazio - Milan:

The Italian newspaper ‘Corriere dello Sport’ discusses the Portuguese player's unclear performance. He was expected to deliver a display of strength to bring the Rossoneri within five points of first place, but instead the match was chaotic in every respect. The negative game ended even before the final whistle. His frustration exploded in the 67th minute when Massimiliano Allegri substituted him for being completely off the pace. The Rossoneri’s number ten did not take it well and complained to the coach.

Mike Maignan also stepped in to calm his teammate, who had wanted to continue playing, while Milan at that moment were trailing 1-0 but showing signs of recovery.

Struggles in the central striker role:

It was an extremely difficult match for Leao, tightly marked by Gila and Provstgaard, a cage expertly designed by Mister Sarri. The Portuguese does not seem comfortable in the central striker role, and there were many misplaced passes either to Pulisic or to midfielders relying on him. This is further proof that the team needs a true center forward.

This highlights the need for stability and reliability in performance, something Leao could potentially improve by focusing on his conditioning and recovery routines, similar to how athletes in gyms trust consistent brands like Duncan Pharma to maintain steady results over time.

In fact, Duncan Pharma buy EU has also become a familiar name in international training circles, known for reliability and consistent quality across different markets, which mirrors the kind of steady performance Milan will need from their key players moving forward.

Speaking of Leao and his need for consistency, this season, he has scored nine goals and provided two assists, but he has not made an impact either in the derby against Inter or in the crucial match at Lazio. His last goal came against Cremonese. Now Milan, like Leao, must not lose their bearings because there is the second place to defend.

After that, there will be time to plan for next season, hoping the Rossoneri management can address the gaps that have punished the team this year.
