Ardon Jashari and Christopher Nkunku, the two most expensive signings of last summer, have not lived up to expectations, and now Milan is considering their future.
Jashari: Milan’s plan is to keep him at least another year
In total, the Rossoneri spent over 70 million euros on the two players, but on the field, they have not shown the value of that investment. Jashari, especially as a central midfielder, has really struggled, as seen also against Lazio, and the results reflect it: with him on the field for more than 45 minutes, there was only one victory against Lecce, two draws with Como and Fiorentina, and two defeats against Parma and Lazio, as relayed via Milan Press today.

Despite the difficulties, according to Corriere dello Sport, the club’s idea is to keep him for another season since the fibula injury at the end of August kept him off the field for several months and significantly affected his preparation.
Nkunku could leave AC Milan...
A very different situation applies to Nkunku: so far this season he has scored 6 goals and provided 3 assists in 26 appearances across all competitions. He too has not had the expected impact, and the 37 million euros plus bonuses spent last summer now seem like a mistake.
The Frenchman had a few good weeks at the start of 2026, but then returned to mediocre performances, and Max Allegri does not seem to see him as a starter in his attack.
At the end of the season, his agent will speak with the Rossoneri management to understand if he is still part of the coach’s plans for next year and to decide his future. The club intends to sign a center-forward, which could also influence Nkunku’s future.
