"When the club first told me about this idea, I had no doubts about it at all: from the very first day I arrived here, I felt great and loved by all the fans."
Modrić continues:
"This is a very small gesture to give something back for all the affection I have received since the day I arrived at Milan."
Milan has set up a display with photos and statements that trace Modrić’s career, in particular a childhood photo of him wearing a Rossoneri tracksuit:
"It’s wonderful to see this photo. It brings back so many memories because when I was a child, I was a big Milan fan. Now, thirty years later, playing for this great club is truly wonderful, a dream come true. I didn’t expect this to happen, but in the end, things come when you least expect them. I’ve fulfilled this dream and I’ve been enjoying it since day one. I am truly grateful for everything the club and the fans have given me from the very beginning," as relayed via Milan News.
